It’s a Riviera Rumble as T100 Start Lists Revealed!

T100

What is it: The start lists have been released for the upcoming combined T100/World Triathlon Championship Series race in the French Riviera.

  • With this event serving as the first-ever joint T100/WTCS event, both entities are desperate to see professional and age group success on race day!

Women’s T100: The Women’s race has two previous T100 winners, as both Julie Derron (SUI) and Kate Waugh (GBR) will be looking to add a second victory and take the driver’s seat in the $2m+ T100 series standings.

  • They’ll be joined by 2025 standout Jessica Learmonth (GBR), as well as Ashleigh Gentle (AUS) and Taylor Spivey (USA).

  • And Lisa Perterer (AUT), who will also be competing, is currently one of the most high-performing athletes in long-course racing as she is 9th OA in the T100 Standings, while also sitting in 7th in the IRONMAN Pro Series!

Olympic gold-medalist and T100 contracted athlete Flora Duffy (BER) will also be competing for the first time since dropping out in Singapore due to injury.

Men’s T100: Mika Noodt (GER) wears the #1 for this race, but all eyes will be on Hayden Wilde (NZ) as he looks for another win following his inspirational comeback victory in London.

  • They’ll be joined by T100 podium stalwarts Jelle Geens (BEL) and Rico Bogen (GER).

And athletes like Leo Bergere (FRA), Morgan Pearson (USA), and Kyle Smith (NZ) will no doubt be circling for the podium.

World Triathlon weekend: Not to be forgotten, the World Triathlon Championship Series race will be contested over the sprint distance and see Olympic gold-medalist Cassandre Beaugrand (FRA) go head-to-head with other 2025 WTCS champions Lisa Tertsch (GER), Jeanne Lehair (FRA), and Leonie Periault (FRA).

The men’s race has current WTCS series leader Matt Hauser (USA) taking on all comers, including Olympic gold medalist Alex Yee (GBR), and…Hayden Wilde! 🤔🤯

Tempo’s take: Yes, that is correct. Hayden Wilde (plus Morgan Pearson and Taylor Spivey) is scheduled to compete in both French Riviera races!

  • Let me tell you, I’ve competed in both WTCS and PTO/T100 events - separately. The thought of doing both on the same weekend sounds absolutely insane!

Scheduling-wise, it’s pretty brutal as well. According to the athlete guide, the men’s and women’s events start within minutes of each other on Saturday, August 30th. Then, about 27 hours after the T100 finishes, the WTCS race commences.

Racing crossovers like these bring intrigue and attention that the T100/World Triathlon desperately needs in their battle for triathlon mindshare.

  • And with the IRONMAN World Championships set to liftoff in a month, they are hoping that triathlon’s center of gravity doesn’t shift too far away…
