Massive T100 signing, what protein is best for you, and a cue to fix your freestyle!

Good morning everyone,
We got great feedback on our bonus edition the other day where we shared your opinions on whether the issue of age group drafting could be solved by RaceRanger.
These won’t be a weekly fixture, but there are plenty of topics that I’m sure will also generate a huge reader response!
But not the split IRONMAN World Championship. Not many of you have an opinion on that…👀😆🤣
In today’s edition:
💥 T100 takes another shot at IRONMAN with massive athlete signing!
🍳 What sources of protein are the best for you?
🏊♂️ And a cue to fix your freestyle breathing!

T100 Signs IRONMAN World Champion Lucy Charles-Barclay

T100
What is it: The T100 Triathlon World Tour has finally filled the remaining slot in its 40-athlete roster. The 2023 IRONMAN World Champion, Lucy Charles-Barclay (GBR), will return for her second season in the upstart professional triathlon series.
Tempo’s take: It’s another massive win for the T100 in its triathlon talent war with IRONMAN. As one of the highest-profile professional triathletes in the world, LCB’s decision adds even more legitimacy and prestige to the T100 series.
With it being a Kona year for the women, we still expect her to be competing on the big island in October. But instead of IRONMAN enjoying a full season of her presence at their events, they’ll most likely only see her at a validation event and the big show.
The T100 now has one of the world’s most dynamic and exciting racers. Charles-Barclay is always attacking the race from the front - bringing incredible intrigue to every event. She may even be the one to finally break Taylor Knibb’s T100 unbeaten streak!
T100 Announces New Series Stop in Vancouver
What is it: The T100 Triathlon World Tour announced the latest stop in its 2025 calendar, Vancouver, Canada. The event will be held June 13-15 2025 at Jericho Beach and will feature professional and age group 100km races, sprint triathlon, open water, and 5km run races.
Tempo’s take: This is another win for the T100 and feeds into the serious momentum heading into the 2025 season. With the hole left by IRONMAN’s decision to move IRONMAN Canada from Penticton, there was a massive gap in the Pacific Northwest triathlon community. With Vancouver (population 2.6 million) and Seattle (population 4.0 million) down the road, the base of potential athletes is significant.
However, they’ll need to take lessons from the last time Vancouver hosted a major triathlon - the 2008 World Triathlon World Championships. The mid-June date resulted in unfortunate “June-uary” conditions (miserable for racing).
And a mismeasured swim course led to athletes spending wayyy too much time in the 12C/53F waters of Burrard Inlet. With many unable to buckle their helmets by the time they hit T1!
But IRONMAN’s loss is the T100’s gain. And if they can execute well in their first year, this event could become one of the series’ crown jewels and become a must-do global triathlon event!
IRONMAN Sells FulGaz, Partners with Rouvy
What is it: In a press release, IRONMAN has announced that it has sold its online cycling platform, FulGaz, to another online cycling platform, Rouvy. As a part of the deal, ROUVY will become the Official Digital Sports Platform of the global IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 races.
As an IRONMAN property, FulGaz provided opportunities for athletes to virtually ride specific race courses like Kona, and IRONMAN Texas. Rouvy users will now have access to the 20 most popular IRONMAN courses on FulGaz.
According to an article in Velo, IRONMAN’s ownership of FulGaz was messy and filled with underinvestment. And just before the sale to Rouvy, the entire FulGaz staff was laid off.
